SPORT: Welbeck at the double as United beat Villa

Two goals from Danny Welbeck and one from Tom Cleverley helped secure Manchester United an emphatic 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
The reigning champions arrived at Villa Park aiming to avoid a third consecutive Premier League defeat, and were set well on their way to claiming three points with two goals in the space of three first-half minutes from the returning England international striker.

Welbeck's first came from close-range, once Adnan Januzaj's header rebounded off the post, while his second saw him slide in to convert an Antonio Valencia cross.

Villa actually started the game promisingly, and twice tested visiting goalkeeper David De Gea in the early stages. However, it was David Moyes's side that made the breakthrough, and once opening the scoring, they never looked back.
Cleverley wrapped up the three points after beating Brad Guzan at his near post early in the second half, after latching on to a perfectly weighted through-ball from Wayne Rooney.
The game was also memorable because of the return of Darren Fletcher, the injury-plagyed star making his first Premier League appearance for Manchester United for nearly a year, since Boxing Day 2012.
The Scotland international replaced Ryan Giggs in the latter stages of the game, and arrived to a warm reception from away supporters, who proceeded to cheer every time he touched the ball.
Aston Villa: Guzan, Lowton, Clark, Baker, Luna, Westwood, El Ahmadi (Bacuna 86), Sylla (Weimann 62), Albrighton, Agbonlahor, Benteke (Kozak 79).
Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Jones, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Cleverley, Giggs (Fletcher 70), Januzaj (Young 69); Rooney (Zaha 84), Welbeck.
