The Applause singer showed off her new ink just days before she remembers the late star at this year's ceremony, one month after his death from cancer aged 69.
Gaga showed off her latest design on Snapchat as tattooist Mark Mahoney added to her collection at Shamrock Social Club with the tattoo on her rib cage, just below an anchor on her left side.
The new piece was a brilliantly recreated stencil copy of Bowie's Aladdin Sane album cover, which the star said had a profound effect on her.
She captioned a video: "This was the image that changed my life".
It comes as Gaga prepares for her special "experimental tribute" performance honouring the Starman singer at the Grammys ceremony on Monday in Los Angeles .
The event's executive producer Ken Ehrlich said: "We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year's show, but when David passed - almost in a single moment - we knew we had to change direction.
"We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honour David. She's perfect for it."
The special showcase in memory of the Thin White Duke will be directed by Nile Rodgers, who previously worked with Bowie on 1983 album Let's Dance.
