In a twist to the twin blasts which rocked Kaduna this afternoon,
reports have it that the second blast was aimed at opposition party
chieftain, General Mohammed Buhari (rtd)
According to reports, the second bomb blast which went off in the
Kawo area of Kaduna was aimed at former Presidential aspirant and
opposition party chieftain, General Mohammed Buhari(rtd).
BBC Africa reports that about 90 minutes after the first bomb went off along Alkali Rd, a second explosion ripped through the crowded Kawo area, targeting the motorcade of Gen Buhari.
Reports state that gunmen rammed into the General's convoy firing shots into it and injuring 2 of his bodyguards in the process, Buhari however escaped unhurt.
Meanwhile no fewer than 40 people have been killed in total following both blasts with the first blast reported to have targeted Islamic cleric, Dahiru Bauchi.
A 24-hour curfew in the Kaduna metropolis has also been declared by the Kaduna state Governor, Ramalan Yero.
